1963 Greenbrier - Side

by David Brown last modified 2007-11-17 06:29 PM

I bought this just recently from six years in storage after it was brought from California- it has no rust and no dents- has 70,000 ACTUAL miles. The intent when I bought it was to tune it and drive it,,,,, wrong,,,, brakes were trash, the 80 hp engine wasn't worth the effort, rearend leaked like crazy - basically from storage and no maintenance. So I started at one end and began to repair/replace as necessary. It will have a '65 FC 110 rebuilt (van) engine, serviced and sealed 4 sp with 3:27 diff, new clutch and pressure plate, new battery and cables, all new HD shocks, all new brakes, rebuilt rear axel bearings with a spare axel with new bearing on it, converted to dual master cylinder, gas tank removed, cleaned & resealed, converted to alternator with new 60 amp alt. Front wheel bearings removed, cleaned and new seals. All doors aligned and close as designed, all glass perfect except windshield has wiper marks low on the glass. Tires that are on it look new-but it has been parked on them for six years!!! There is a stock (uninstalled) radio with it-condition ?? This car dosen't even need painting to use as a daily driver, and could easily be restored to immaculate pure stock. Three seats-from different vans and different colors- driver's seat has a very nice custom made cover. This is a "late" '63 model with the floor mounted shifter,,, also just refurbished. I have not found an FC jack for it yet. Of course, it's at my house in Floresville. I'm asking $5500 for it now-- but the more I do to it, the price will increase- still probably the best value for a Greenbrier in this condition in a long time. Vans are just not my "thing", I bought it to play with and put it back on the road. Another option would be for me to sell it to some mechanically inclined person without the engine I'm building, or, without the engine/drivetrain installed, at some negotiated price. Please pass this to CH or anyone interested in a Greenbrier,,,, please,,, before I spend the grocery money on it. I should be working on my '66 coupe if it's going to be ready for HOT....
